I am so blessed and honored that you have chosen to stop by this little website of mine. I know that your time is extremely valuable, so many thanks for spending a bit of it here.
My name is Allie Billat, and I am still pinching myself about A Sweet Soiree. I have long wanted and prayed for a business of my very own and really expected one day that it would be a business in the area of interior design. But, that certainly is not my training. No, my resume reveals that I have been a "jane-of-all-trades." I've worked in the mortgage banking industry as a loan processor and a funder; I was a teacher at a Christian school for more than a decade where I became a lover of the subject of algebra (crazy - I know). I've been a receptionist, worked for a florist, and have just recently been hired by the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier Associate.
But those are simply the things I've done. Who I am is a Christian, wife, mother of two, step-mother of two, grandmother of two, an artist, and someone who has been extremely blessed. I've got a fabulously hunky husband whom I cherish, awesome kids who only occasionally drive me batty, a wonderfully supportive family, and equally supportive friends. I live in the gorgeous Sierra Foothills in a home built by my husband and me. (What an experience that was!) So, yes, I have truly been blessed.
The Sweet Story
A Sweet Soiree is a wonderful accident! Quite literally, I stumbled upon this idea. I have been an artist really my whole life. Not necessarily what you might call a master artist, but just the kind who always had a flair for being creative and making things look "artsy." The dozen or more colors that cover the walls in my home are a testament to that - and were quite the frustration for my husband who did the painting.
This past February I decided to marry two of my favorite pastimes, art and baking, and made some Valentine's Day cookies and see if I could sell them on eBay. Sure enough, they sold and I wound up with quite a few orders. It really caught me by surprise. Since then I've continued to receive orders.
Although I began the cookie preparations in my home, I will soon be moving that aspect to a commercial kitchen. That kitchen is being provided by a person who will remain anonymous at this point as there are some very interesting developments in the works for A Sweet Soiree. So, please check back again soon to discover the reason behind all the mystery.
Thank you again for stopping by, and please don't leave without grabbing a little something to make your day sweet.
Sweet Blessings to you all!!
